The La Garita Fire District is a community-led effort to establish dedicated fire protection and emergency response services for the residents of La Garita, Colorado.

Driven by local property owners and stakeholders, this initiative reflects our shared commitment to public safety, resilience, and long-term community well-being. We are currently in the planning phase and are drafting a Service Plan in accordance with Colorado Title 32 requirements for special districts.

This process will outline proposed services, service boundaries, governance structure, funding and mill levy mechanisms, and operational standards to ensure transparent, accountable, and sustainable fire protection for our area.

We welcome community engagement as we work together to build a district that reflects the needs and values of La Garita.
