We are writing as concerned citizens of the La Garita area to express our strong support for the approval of funding for a dedicated well at the proposed site of the La Garita Fire Protection District station.

We understand that funding for this project has been identified but not yet formally approved. We urge the County to move forward with this critical investment, which will provide a reliable water source for fire suppression, equipment maintenance, and future station operations. In a region with limited water infrastructure and elevated wildfire risk, this well is not only practical—it’s essential.

The proposed fire station represents a major step toward improving emergency response in La

Garita and surrounding areas. The well is foundational to its success, and its timely installation will ensure that the station is operationally ready when needed most.

As residents, we are deeply invested in the safety and resilience of our community. We appreciate the County’s foresight in identifying funding and respectfully request your approval to proceed.
